Stefan Molnar was appointed General Manager Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and the Mekong Region for Lufthansa Group Airlines in May 2017. Based at the Lufthansa Group Thailand office in Bangkok, Mr. Molnar is responsible for overseeing all sales activities for Lufthansa Group (Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa German Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines) passenger business in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines and Vietnam.
Coming from the travel trade, Stefan Molnar started his professional career with Austrian Airlines AG in 1999. In a professional career with Austrian Airlines AG spanning over more than 14 years, the first nine years were in Austria followed by positions as General Manager Sales in Belarus and Ukraine. In 2014 he started his professional career with Deutsche Lufthansa AG as General Manager Sales for Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia. Before relocating to Bangkok for his current role, Mr. Molnar most recently was General Manager Sales Central Asia and Azerbaijan for Lufthansa based in Kazakhstan.
Steven F. Udvar- Házy has more than 40 years of aviation industry experience, has been awarded numerous honorary doctorate degrees and been a recipient of plenty of awards including The Living Legends of Aviation Award, the ISTAT Award, the Air Force Vandenberg Award, Officier de la Légion d’Honneur awarded by the Republic of France and many more. With five decades of experience, the living legend of aviation comes to share his insights into the industry at AIR 2019
Suresh Nair has more than 30 years of airline top management experience in all areas of the Airline business. Presently General Manager-India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh for AirAsia Berhad, he is involved in the International operations of the airline in this region. Mr. Nair played a key role in starting operations to 12 stations in India for AirAsia. He holds an MBA from Cochin University School of Management Studies after which Nair got a Chevening Scholarship to do Advanced Management at Manchester Business School.
Thomas Gunther the Manager of Customer Service at American Airlines is an experienced customer service manager with extensive experience within airport operations (ramp and customer service) as well as Inflight seeking new opportunities within multinational organizations. Mr. Gunther has experience with airport operations, front-line leadership, union/leadership collaboration, technical writing/communication, training/compliance and curriculum development, risk assessment/safety management, project management, and event organization. He has a Masters from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Global Management and undergraduate from the University of Texas.
Mr. Efendi is experienced Vice President Of Commercial Operations and Ecommerce with a demonstrated history of working in the airlines/aviation industry. He started working in Emirates back in 1997, where he spent 12 years working his way up to Thailand and Indochina area manager, now Mr. Efendi is Senior Vice President Commercial Operations & Ecommerce at flydubai. He holds a Master‘s degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) focused in Economics from Bradford University.
Nils Hamsa leads the recruitment efforts at flydubai based in the United Arab Emirates. Nils has spent the last 3 years designing, building and enhancing the best in class recruitment techniques using the latest technology and online assessment testing tools. Prior to flydubai, Nils was the group head of recruitment for National Air Services a Saudi based aviation group where his journey began in aviation. Nils focuses on finding people that love what they do, be it marketing, IT, HR, piloting or providing service to passengers aboard flydubai’s flights. Now Mr. Hamsa will review the workforce market in 2018 and discuss the shortage of aviation professionals, future forecasts and possible solutions.
Mohammad Ali Dada has significant experience in setting up, restructuring and change management of Internal Audit functions globally, conducting investigations and leading Internal Audit functions with a strong focus on adding measurable value to the business. Mr. Dada has a strong background in commercial aviation having led audit functions for multiple airlines, airport service related companies, MROs and loyalty programs.
Having graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering degree in 2004, Birkan was employed by Turkish Airlines Technic within the same year. During his early years at the Company he took various positions in Line Maintenance department and later on 2010 he joined Turkish Airlines OCC team where he took a major role evolving then OCC into professional IOCC. During his position as MOCC Senior Manager and afterwards VP IOCC, he successfully digitalized workflows and developed major projects in order to seamlessly conduct operations of Turkish Airlines – the airline that flies to most countries in the world. In 2016 Birkan was appointed as SVP Aircraft Maintenance for Turkish Airlines Technic in its Istanbul Ataturk Airport facilities. During his two years of active duty, revenue has doubled and efficiency gain rate is measured as 27% for each year. On June of 2018 Birkan was promoted to his current role; SVP QA at Turkish Airlines Technic.
Steve Smith is a 38-year airline industry veteran, who has held numerous key positions in sales and marketing throughout his notable career. In 2006, Steve joined Japan Airlines to lead the carrier’s corporate and agency sales activities. Now, in his new role of Vice President and Head of Global Sales, he works closely with the airline’s corporate sales teams throughout the world, primarily with the Global Corporate and T.M.C. channels to generate premium business, and he also works closely with JAL’s Joint Business Partners throughout the world.
Before joining Japan Airlines, Steve spent 25 years with Delta Air Lines holding several leadership positions including Managing Director for Worldwide Sales at the airline’s Atlanta Headquarters in 2001. Previous to that assignment, he was Director of Sales and Marketing for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, while based in London.
Prior to the Europe assignment, Steve was the regional director for sales and marketing for the Northeastern Region, including the New York City market. Steve has also led sales and marketing teams in important U.S. business markets such as Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Houston, and in key mid-markets such as Louisville, Tulsa and Jacksonville.
Steve is currently a member of the IATAN Board of Directors and also formerly served on the GBTA Aviation Committee as the International Airlines Representative. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, and a native of the sunshine state. He has personal interests in football, sailing, travel and golf.
Susanna Halonen-Manner, Vice President Emergency Response, Norwegian Group Airlines since 2015. Currently a member of the Board of the Aviation Emergency Response Organization (AERO) in Washington DC. Previous work history includes work in the field of emergency response for other airlines and airline alliance work primarily at strategic level. Susanna holds a degree in Master of Science in Economy and a MBA. Currently in process of finalizing a Master of Law degree at Helsinki University specializing in International Aviation Law.
Julian Carr is Aviation Director of Manchester Airport, where he oversees all air service development and airline management activities. Prior to this, he was Commercial Director of East Midlands and Bournemouth Airports whilst additionally holding responsibility for all cargo activity across the MAG Group. Before entering the airport business, Julian was a senior executive on the airline side of the table, having held positions as Managing Director of three airlines; Bmibaby, My TravelLite, and most recently Stobart Air. He also has international experience having been Head of Marketing and New Product development for IATA based out of their Montreal office, where he also worked on a variety of airline consultancy projects around the globe. He holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport, and is also a qualified private pilot.
Mr. Peter Wiesner has a long experience in the airlines industry. He worked in various management functions more than 30 years with Swissair. He has worked in 10 different countries on 4 continents. In May 2000, he was asked to work for Bangkok Airways as a Vice President – Marketing after retirement from Swiss Air.
At Bangkok Airways, Peter has contributed his extensive airline marketing knowledge and experience in establishing a number of marketing strategies particularly setting up Pricing Organization, which plays a major role in implementing and developing e-ticket distribution channels with all available GDS.
At the beginning of year 2010, Peter Wiesner has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Network Management. It includes Network Planning, Codeshare and Alliances, Traffic & Schedule Planning, Market Research, Product Management, Tariff & Pricing, and Revenue Management.
On 1st January 2016 he was nominated as Advisor to Board of Directors and Advisor – Network & Fleet Management, Bangkok Airways.
Rami Hindieh, in his role as an Associate Director of the Enterprise Data Management Office at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Rami is a key accountable member of the Senior Leadership team and is responsible for leading Toronto’s Pearson Airport to become a data centric driven operation by rationalizing information, processes, applications, systems, and people across multiple business lines and IT functions. He leads in the design and execution of the Enterprise Data Strategy and ensures the airport is aligned to the latest trends in leveraging data as a key asset. An Engineer by background with over 15 years of leadership roles in the Enterprise Information Management, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics space, his prior work engagements were at major financial institutions where he headed departments with a data focus that involved delivering successful and value-add Business Intelligence solutions, Information Management strategies, and data governance frameworks.
Chien-Pu (Johnson) Hung, special assistant to Chairman of Air Asia Company Limited. Job role mainly focusing on strategy and business development with OEM and suppliers including both military and commercial sector. Latest project includes developing strategy for international expansion of Air Asia’s commercial MRO, and also design sales and marketing strategies.
Sven Taubert, Lufthansa Technik’s Corporate Innovation Manager & ZAL Site Manager has nearly a decade of experience in avation. Mr. Taubert and his team are responsible to consult upper management to enable knowledge based and strategic decisions. Prior to his current role he was working as Corporate Innovation Manager, leading research & development projects, which have cross division or cross company impact.
Before joining Lufthansa Technik, Mr. Taubert worked on behalf of AIRBUS as well within the field of Cabin & Cargo innovation. Additionally to daily business Mr. Taubert is also involved with international bodies like IATA or SAE.
Goutam Kundu was appointed Chief Information Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority in June 2013. As CIO, he is responsible for all aspects of the Airports Authority’s IT strategy, infrastructure, systems, processes, and services.
Goutam’s executive career has been focused around leveraging new and existing technologies to deliver business value, boost revenue generation, and improve customer relationships in rapidly changing industries. Throughout his continued tenure at the Airports Authority, Goutam has lead the team in consolidating the Authority’s technology footprint, developing veriScan—a biometric traveler verification product—and other distinctive in-house airport technology solutions while reinvesting in innovation and passenger-centric technologies.
Prior to his appointment with the Airports Authority, Goutam held executive leadership roles at the U.S. Mint, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Farm Bureau Insurance, and NIIT Technologies. Kundu earned a master’s degree in business administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and technology from the University of Calcutta.

Aboudy is the Chief Commercial Officer at London Stansted Airport, the fastest growing airport in the UK and on track to be the third largest airport in the UK with 29m passengers per year. Before joining London Stansted, Aboudy spent more than 20 years in the airline business, where he held a number of senior Commercial positions in both full-service and low-cost airlines across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region. Aboudy was previously Senior Vice President, Planning and Revenue Management at Oman Air, responsible for Network Planning, Revenue Management, Commercial Planning, Distribution, Ecommerce, and Ancillary revenue. Before that, Aboudy was the Group Head of Sales, Distribution and Ancillary revenue for all AOCs in the AirAsia group, having joined AirAsia after eight years as Head of Sales Strategy and Planning at Etihad Airways.
Mihai Patrascu has been the General Manager of Satu Mare Airport since June 2018. Mr. Patrascu has extensive experience in the aviation industry and has been working in airport management for over 10 years. Back in 2008 he was responsible for bringing Austrian Airlines to Baia Mare. Overall, Mr. Patrascu has increased general and business flights by over 300% during his time at Baia Mare Airport. Mr. Patrascu speaks 6 languages fluently and has written 8 books throughout his career.
Airline commercial professional with a unique blend of leading strategic group marketing for AirAsia, leading country marketing for Indian subcontinent and regonally managing country markets cross South East and North Asia markets.
Was a key member in launching AirAsia India which was opened for sale in record time of just 2 working days; fully leveraged social media, digial and PR for the quick turnaround. Raj leads Human Resources function at IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share. A key member of IndiGo’s Executive Committee, he has responsibility for all aspects of Human Resources including ifly (IndiGo’s Learning Academy) and Administration functions. Prior to this he was Amazon’s Head of Human Resources (Asia Pacific & Middle East) for their International Consumer Business and Global Technology Development Centers in the region. He joined Amazon in early 2011 as their India Director of Human Resources and supported the launch of several Amazon businesses and technology development centers in the country. Earlier, Raj was Head of HR for GE’s Global Research and India Technology Centers. He initially joined GE in 1999 and held various senior HR leadership positions supporting several businesses in various locations. Starting his HR career in the late 80’s, Raj has held several senior HR leadership positions across geographies in organizations such as Hindustan Unilever, Ford Motor Company and HSBC.

Julien started his career with Airbus in 2001 as an avionic engineer apprentice. Julien worked on Airbus A320/330/340 and then A380 in 2005 once he graduated from the Airbus Vocational School. From 2005 to 2010, Julien worked for Airbus in Toulouse,France and Hamburg, Germany as an avionic engineer and contributed to the successful first delivery of Singapore Airline A380. In 2010 Julien moved to Australia and worked for Qantas Defence Services on the A330 MRTT as a Quality Engineer. In 2012, Virgin Australia hired Julien as a fleet engineer for the development of a preventive maintenance group on A330, B737 and E190. In 2014, Julien transferred to Tigerair Australia as Manager Maintenance Control. Julien has more than 15 years of experience in aircraft engineering & maintenance. He has advanced knowledge in AOG recovery, maintenance and reliability program as well as MRO support for light and heavy maintenance. Julien holds a diploma in Aeronautics (Avionics), Master Degree in aviation management, A330 type Certificate and a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt certificate.
Alya A. Hafeedh AL Qalam AL Yafie is Manager Development Engineering at Oman Air with experience on Avionics/ Electrical systems, e-Enablement, IFE and connectivity across Oman Air fleets currently in charge of IFE and connectivity.
Alya A. Hafeedh AL Qalam AL Yafie received degree of Master of Science in Maintenance Management from Glasgow Caledonian in the period from 2008 -2011, in addition to a high diploma from college of aeronautical science and technology.
Alya Hafeedh AL Qalam AL Yafie is the first female Gulf National Aircraft Avionics Maintenance Engineer who successfully acquired DGCAR Oman Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License in 1998 on Aircraft Avionics and Electrical Systems.
Periklis Papanikolaou is In-flight Instructional Designer at Delta Airlines. His professional experience reflects over 15 years of creative leadership and visionary capacities in complex, competitive, and highly regulated aviation and travel industry. Mr. Papanikolaou has outstanding record of achievement implementing new business strategies, delivering innovative solutions, and facilitating operations. He has established strategic plans, developed systems and operational overhauls, lead numerous reorganizations to enhance growth opportunities in which corporate image was transformed and profitability was re-established. Management responsibilities included multi-site supervision of 250 personnel, P&L of annual budget in excess of $100M.
Mr. Patee Sarasin served as the Chief Executive Officer of Nok Airlines Public Company Limited since 2004 until September 14, 2017. Mr. Sarasin served as the Chief Executive Officer of Bates Advertising Thailand, a JV between SPA and Bates World wide. He served as General Manager of Multi Media Orbit and Creative Liaison officer of SPA Advertising. He served at The Creative & Production with NBC, The U.S. Television Network and Research Manager of Lintas. He served as Vice Chairman and Director at Nok Airlines Public Company Limited since September 14, 2017 and January 2013 respectively until December 21, 2017. He serves as a Director of Minor Corporation Public Company Limited. He was an Independent Director of Minor International Public Company Limited since April 2, 2012 until January 9, 2018. Mr. Sarasin has a Master Degree in Mass Communication Film and Video from American University, Washington, D.C., USA, Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from Clark University and attended Massachusetts, USA Kings School, Canterbury, England.
Espen has long leadership and management experience from the aviation and aviation training industry, including developing and implementing major cost and organisational reduction programs, mergers, developing new commercial initiatives for SAS Scandinavian Airlines, developing new strategic initiatives for SAS Flight Academy. Additionally, Mr. Hoiby has held board positions for both start up and well established companies, has been a general manager for start up companies, pedagogical training and Airline Captain for SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
Dewey Yee is Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Aergo Capital Asia. Mr. Yee has worked for the aviation industry for over 30 years. Dewey began his career in the 1980s and was personally hired by Tony Ryan as Head of Marketing, based in Hong Kong and tasked with opening China to the aircraft leasing business. Dewey has held senior leadership roles at a number of major aviation entities including GATX Capital Corporation, Babcock & Brown, Tokyo-Mitsubishi International, Société Générale Asia, and China Everbright. He had personally formulated innovative tax and policy measures to develop Hong Kong to become a global Aerospace Finance Centre and his work resulted in the passing of the 2017 Inland Revenue Bill to create a new tax regime for the aircraft leasing, financing and investment sector in Hong Kong.

Worked as an aircraft maintenance engineer in the Engine Overhaul Facility and in an executive Management position in Quality for 7 years. Also holds an MBA in International Business from ICFAI, completed in 2009.
Dr. Narudh received his Air Transport doctorate from Loughborough University in UK specialising in aviation externalities. He has been a life-long aviation enthusiast with extensive experience in the field of aviation. As the head of Nok Air’s research department, he is responsible for overseeing research, strategic planning and route network development. He is also a non-executive director at a media venture capitalist firm, Topten Capital and a travel and food critic at Toptenthailand.com.
In academia, Narudh has been publishing research in the areas of airport competition, environmental impact of aviation and valuation of aviation externalities. He also appears in a number of printed media and radio giving expert-opinion on the state of the aviation industry. As an aviation enthusiast, he enjoys flying around the world. He has flown on 194 airlines to 284 airports in 109 countries.
Eugénio Fernandes is the board member and CEO of euroAtlantic Airways. His career in aviation industry started back in 1994 as the Finance Manager at Alitalia. In 1999 Mr. Fernandes became a shareholder and Chief Financial Officer of Tettus-Nave and eventually moved on to become the CEO and board member at Airplus. In 2005, he began his career at euroAtlantic becoming the CEO in 2018. Fernandes holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Muhammad Osama Sheikh is a project manager at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). He is a business professional with a diversified experience in leading digital transformation. Recently, Mr. Sheikh has successfully completed PSS & GDS migration project in record four months which is the biggest transformation project in PIA over past 18 years. Also, he is working on IATA STB (Simplify the Business) program to transform business practices and processes to deliver value to the industry. Mr. Sheikh has an MBA from Institute of Business Administration.

Rob has proven experience in structuring and modelling complex aircraft lease transactions, as well as aviation start-ups, mergers & acquisitions, and restructurings. A regular speaker at aviation conferences and events, Rob regularly covers topics related to aircraft leasing, financing, and aircraft appraisals.
Prior to starting Aerotask, Rob worked for Airbus consultancy; tasc aviation.

Craig Astridge is the Regional Head, Asia Pacific for Marketing and Commercial Services at the International Air Transport Association (IATA). IATA is the global airlines association covering over 290 airlines. IATA’s mission is to lead, represent and serve the airline industry. Craig is responsible for managing the commercial operations of IATA in Asia Pacific and is based in Singapore. Prior to joining IATA in 2010, Craig held senior roles for Singapore Airlines in the Asia/Pacific region, based in New Zealand, Singapore and Australia. Craig was educated in New Zealand and holds a Division One First Class Honors Degree in Business from Massey University.
Elvis Ndomo is a Planning and Performance Optimization Expert at Kenya Airways. He has over 16 years of management experience in the commercial domain of the airline industry. Mr. Ndomo has been at the forefront of high profile Projects covering Airline Commercial Planning, Pricing and Revenue Management Setups, Business Turnaround as well as Performance Management and Control for various airlines during the last 11 years. He considers himself an authority in the functional areas of commercial planning and strategy, revenue management, pricing, distribution, cost management and business development in general.
AbdulBasit Al Rawahi is the Head of Human Resources at SalamAir. He has over 25 years of experience in airline industry with diverse management experience background in Human Resources, Corporate Strategy, Finance and Technical. Prior to SalamAir, AbdulBasit worked as Head of Human Resources at Etihad Airways and Gulf Air, the national airlines of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain respectively. He has been instrumental in transforming Human Resources with the use of best practices and instilling a culture of continuous improvement in line with business growth strategy. Harry Tang is the Marketing Manager at Juneyao Air Thailand Branch. He started his career at Juneyao over six years ago as a Channel Sales Executive where he was fostering business ties with Shanghai-based travel agents and identifying possible corporate clients through travel agents and TMCs. Currently, Mr. Tang handles marketing, revenue management and daily operations of Juneyao’s scheduled flights to Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai. Additionally he launched a training program to Thai Airways ground handling teams, and delivers briefings to fellow Star Alliance full member carriers in Bangkok in preparation of joining Star Alliance as a Connecting Partner.
